AIMYC & B.I.C. PEACE-BUILDING TRAINING PROGRAM, AT: NUAGAON, KANDHAMAL, ODISHA, INDIA, From 21 – 23 February, 2019


We would like to give thanks to our living God for making it possible to arrange the Peace-building training program in short period. By His grace, All India Mennonite and BIC Youth Conference was able to arrange a Peace-building Training Program (Mission Trip) – 2019 at Nuagaon, Kandhamal, Odisha in which 50 youth participated from Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. The Peace-building Training Program was held from February 21st to 23rd, 2019 (Thursday to Saturday).

On February 20 and 21, 2019, the participants from different parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bihar started arriving in Nuagaon, Kandhamal, Odisha. They were from MCI, BGCMC, BIC Bihar and BIC Odisha. The boys stayed in the Girls’ Hostel and the girls stayed in old church building. All our meetings were held in the BIC Church, Nuagaon from morning 9:00 A.M. to evening 9:00 P.M. It was a joyous occasion for the youth participants. They were able to meet others and enjoyed the fellowship together.

The AIMYC Peace-building training topics were “Mission and Church Planting” and “Peace-building”. The classes were taken by Bishop Dr. Bijoy Kumar Roul, Ms. Manjula Patnaik, Rev. Madhukant Masih, Bro. Sushant Rajat Nand and Rev. Prakash Thankachan.

The overall purpose of the training program was to enhance a policy related discourse on conflict resolution in the society, church, families and everywhere. The training design was based on a mix of lectures, working groups, exercises and understandings.
The other activities were: Singing Songs in different languages, Testimony Sharing, Games, Cultural Program and Group Discussion. Everyone participated with great enthusiasm. While going back to their respective places, each one said, the AIMYC Peace-building training program has really blessed their hearts and gave a new vision in their lives.
